Abbas Araqchi: We highly appreciate the efforts of Azerbaijan and 6 other regional countries

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi highly appreciated the efforts of Azerbaijan and six regional countries to defuse tensions in the region, emphasizing their important role in promoting negotiations between Tehran and Washington, APA report, citing IRNA.

Iranian Foreign Minister said that they are consulting with regional countries, and these countries are trying to help themselves.

Abbas Araghchi recalled that the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Egypt had telephone conversations with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian: "I have had and will have numerous telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of the countries of the region. We respect the goodwill and sincere efforts of the countries of the region. Their role in reducing tensions, preventing extreme measures and encouraging the parties to negotiate has been very effective. It is very good that the countries of the region support the negotiations, and we will continue consultations with the countries of the region."

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that the efforts of regional states can play a significant role in achieving results in the Iran-US negotiations and ensuring the sustainability of the agreement reached.

Abbas Araqchi said that they are also continuing consultations with Iran's strategic partners, China and Russia: "Yesterday, my deputy met with the ambassadors of China and Russia. We informed them about the details and progress of the negotiations, and we will continue consultations with them."
