US rescues second crew member from downed F-15E in Iran, Trump says

The United States has successfully rescued the second crew member of an F-15E fighter jet shot down over Iran, President Donald Trump has confirmed.

Writing on his Truth Social account, Trump said US forces had carried out what he described as one of the most daring search-and-rescue missions in the country’s history.

“We got him back,” he said. “The United States Armed Forces conducted one of the most courageous search-and-rescue operations in recent hours. I am very pleased to report that he is alive.”

The US leader added that although the pilot had been injured, his condition was stable and he was expected to recover.

Earlier, reports from Axios, citing unnamed sources, said US special operations forces had located and extracted the second crew member during a high-risk mission.

The operation was conducted with support from US aviation assets, according to the report.

Following the extraction, US forces were safely withdrawn from the area.

Details surrounding the downing of the F-15E and the precise location of the rescue operation have not been officially disclosed.
