Azerbaijan, Serbia hold third round of consular consultations in Belgrade

On April 28, the third round of consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia was held in the city of Belgrade, the Azerbaijan MFA told APA.

The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Serbian delegation was led by Natasa Rasevic, Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs of Serbia.

During the consultations, the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in the consular field between the Republic of Serbia were discussed, including the possibilities of signing new bilateral documents in this area.

In addition, an exchange of views was held on recent innovations implemented in the consular field, including the existing experience of both countries and the mechanisms applied in the digitalization of consular services, and opportunities for expanding cooperation in this area and the mutual application of best practices were considered.

It was also emphasized that it is important to strengthen relations between the two countries in the fields of migration, justice, education, labor, and social protection.

At the meeting, views and experience were also exchanged on ensuring effective consular protection of citizens in crisis situations and on regulating labor migration.
