Mobile internet access restored in Moscow after temporary outage - UPDATED

Mobile internet access has been restored in Moscow, APA reports, citing its Moscow bureau.

According to the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, temporary restrictions on mobile internet imposed due to security concerns have been lifted, and access to operators’ internet resources has been resumed.

The ministry also stated that home internet and Wi-Fi services in Moscow have been operating normally.

It should be noted that mobile internet was disabled in Moscow earlier this morning.

Mobile internet service has been suspended in Moscow, APA’s Russia bureau reports.

Residents of Moscow are complaining about mobile internet problems.

They say that even “whitelisted” websites are not working. Information about mobile internet outages spread early this morning. Similar complaints are also coming from St. Petersburg and other regions.

An increase in complaints regarding internet service from various operators is also observed on the “detector404” service. According to the service, the number of complaints about mobile internet service began to rise around 8:00 a.m. Moscow time.

Information has been circulated about mobile internet outages among the operators MTS, T2, Beeline and Yota.

The T2 operator has also faced the same problems in the Moscow region.

Note that mobile operators in Moscow and St. Petersburg have sent notifications to subscribers stating that mobile internet restrictions will be applied on May 5–9 for security reasons.
