Special envoy: No specific date set for opening of Türkiye–Armenia border

Türkiye has expressed its political will regarding the opening of its border with Armenia, but it is not possible to specify a concrete date, Turkish Special Representative for the normalization of relations with Armenia, Ambassador Serdar Kılıç said in an interview with Sputnik Armenia, APA reports.

According to him, no specific discussions are currently being held on this issue. The opening of the border may only be possible after technical and bureaucratic stages are completed, as well as after communication and other issues are resolved.

Kılıç added that Türkiye expressed its political will in this direction in 2022, but it is not possible to name a specific date.

“I do not want to say when the border will open, I cannot estimate the exact time,” the diplomat noted.
