Media partners of the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held in Baku on May 17-22, 2026, have been announced, the Operations Company told APA.
According to the information, the media partners, in addition to supporting the broad coverage of the event globally, regionally and domestically, will deliver the discussions held within the framework of WUF13 and the key outcomes achieved, including the expected Baku Call to Action document, to a wide audience. Reports and materials to be prepared by the media partners will contribute to raising awareness about priority areas of sustainable urban development, such as the provision of decent and affordable housing, the transformation of informal settlements and slums, as well as access to land and basic services.

It was reported that the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum, organized under the initiative of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is the most prestigious global platform on sustainable urbanization. “Housing for all: safe and sustainable cities and human settlements” is the theme of this year’s event, which, while highlighting the need to address the global housing crisis, will particularly emphasize the important role housing plays as one of the main driving forces of inclusive, sustainable and resilient urban development.
It was noted that the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) will bring together national governments, cities, international organizations, the private sector, academia and civil society to contribute to promoting solutions to overcome the global housing crisis, as well as to the more оператив implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
