President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has stated that Azerbaijan plays a strategic bridge role between Central Asia and Europe, APA reports citing the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
He emphasized Azerbaijan's role in his address to the participants of the high-level meeting 'Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Europe – Cooperation for Common Development' held today.
Highlighting that the event creates a unique opportunity to present Central Asia to the world, to discuss processes of consolidation and cooperation, as well as the strengthening of interregional ties, Mirziyoyev stressed the active development of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations in the spirit of mutual trust and support:
'We highly appreciate the readiness of the President of Azerbaijan, the esteemed Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev, to participate in the development of new interregional processes and his efforts in strengthening the mutual ties between the South Caucasus and Central Asia.'
