US denies studying three scenarios for use of force against Venezuela.

The American administration denies that it is considering three scenarios for using military force against Venezuela to overthrow its president, Nicolás Maduro, APA reports.

US Presidential Envoy at Large Richard Grenell previously commented on the New York Times (NYT) article. "This NYT article is riddled with errors. It's not news, but commentary that belongs on the editorial page," he wrote in X. Grenell offered no further explanation.

Meanwhile, as previously reported by the NYT, the US government is exploring three possible scenarios for a military operation against Venezuela aimed at removing Maduro from power. According to the report, the first option involves airstrikes against Venezuelan military targets to weaken the country's armed forces' support for Maduro. The second option allegedly involves using US Navy SEALs to capture or kill the Venezuelan president. The third plan would involve sending US forces to Venezuela to seize airports, oil fields, and other infrastructure.

According to the newspaper, some senior US administration officials, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, are pushing for a military solution to the Venezuela issue. However, US President Donald Trump is currently reluctant to approve operations that "could endanger American troops or result in embarrassing failure," the newspaper writes.
