Ambassador Osmanov also emphasized the significance of the peace declaration signed on August 8 in Washington, in the presence of the U.S. President, between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that it lays the foundation for a new phase of sustainable peace and cooperation in the South Caucasus.

On behalf of the Romanian government, Deputy Prime Minister and co-chair of the Romania-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Marian Neacșu, congratulated the Azerbaijani people on Victory Day. He stressed that peace in the South Caucasus is vital for implementing international economic, transport, and energy projects in the region and underlined Romania’s view of Azerbaijan as an important partner in ensuring regional stability and development.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Romania, Özgür Kıvanç Altan, also addressed the event, congratulating the Azerbaijani people and noting that Azerbaijan’s historic victory in 2020 strengthened the unity and brotherhood of the Turkic world. He reaffirmed Turkey’s continued solidarity with Azerbaijan as a friend and brotherly country.

Yusuf Murat, Mufti of the Muslim Community in Romania, praised Azerbaijan on this historic day, celebrating the peaceful resolution of the long-standing conflict with Armenia. He highlighted that peace, security, and prosperity for all peoples are in the interest of the region, concluding his speech with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words: “Peace at home, peace in the world.”

As part of the event, an artistic video dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day was screened, showcasing Azerbaijan’s heroism, the Patriotic War victory, and the revival of liberated territories.

The program continued with a musical performance by a children’s group in Romania, performing Azerbaijani songs, which received enthusiastic applause and created a warm and festive atmosphere.
