Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen in Helsinki, APA reports, citing Turkish media.
At the press conference following the meeting, Valtonen’s remarks on the Ottoman Empire drew attention. She referenced a passage from her book The Russia Idea, stating, “The only power respected by the Russian Empire was the Ottoman Empire.”
Hakan Fidan responded to Valtonen’s comments on the Ottoman Empire with a smile.
