As previously reported, on July 2, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikhail Yevdokimov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.
During the meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov, Azerbaijan expressed its protest regarding Russia's unfriendly actions and steps that undermine bilateral relations.
Azerbaijan once again conveyed deep concern over the illegal actions carried out by Russian law enforcement during raids on homes of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg on June 27, which resulted in the deaths of two Azerbaijani citizens and serious injuries to others. It was noted that Russia’s explanation of the incident contradicts the visible signs of severe violence on the victims and the forensic reports.
The Azerbaijani side also emphasized that expressions of ethnic intolerance observed in Russian media in relation to the raids, including references to Azerbaijanis as an "ethnic criminal group," are unacceptable.
