Germany has decided to deploy five Eurofighter jets to Poland just four weeks before the start of the joint military exercises between Russia and Belarus called “Zapad-2025,” APA reports citing Bild.
The fighters were deployed on Tuesday, August 5, marking their first flights from the Mazowiecki military airbase located in Minsk.
“The German Air Force Eurofighter jets will conduct flights from the Minsk Mazowiecki military airbase for the first time… This deployment is a clear sign of NATO alliance solidarity and serves as a reliable means of deterrence and protection of our shared airspace,” said spokesperson for the German Air Force
These fighters will support German troops already on site, who are providing airspace protection over Rzeszów in southeastern Poland, using two Patriot air defense system firing units.
