Bakhtiyar Ersay dismissed from his position at Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense

Army General Bakhtiyar Ersay, advisor to the Azerbaijani defense minister, has stepped down from his position in Azerbaijan in connection with the assumption of his new post, APA reports.

By decree of the Turkish president, he was relieved of his duties at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense.

By order of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, General Ersay has been appointed commander of the First Army of the Turkish Land Forces. He assumed his new responsibilities recently.

For the record, Ersay began his service in Azerbaijan in 2021 as commander of Türkiye’s Service Group in the country. In 2022, he was appointed advisor to the Azerbaijani defense minister.
