Rzeszów Airport in Poland was closed on the night of September 10 due to unscheduled military activity, according to the aviation information website Notamify, APA reports, citing RBC-Ukraine.
It was also reported that, in response to the Shahed attack, Poland likely scrambled F-16 fighters and a SAAB 340 AWACS aircraft, according to data from FlightRadar.
Polish Armed Forces operational command reported that, to ensure the safety of Poland’s airspace, the Operational Commander activated all necessary procedures.
“Polish and allied aircraft are operating in our airspace, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest level of readiness,” the statement on X read.
The report emphasized that these measures are preventive, aimed at ensuring airspace security and protecting citizens, especially in areas near the threat zone.
