According to a report from Georgia’s National Tourism Administration, in January-September of this year, 220,168 people visited Georgia from Azerbaijan, APA's local bureau reports.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of people traveling from Azerbaijan to the neighboring country increased by 56,961 people or 34.9%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan ranked fifth in terms of the number of foreign citizens visiting Georgia. Along with Azerbaijan, the top five included Russia (1,245,744 people), Turkey (963,633 people), Armenia (720,114 people), and Israel (293,699 people).
In the first nine months of this year, Georgia received a total of 6,109,755 international visitors, which is 5.4% more than the previous year. A record number of tourist visits was recorded, reaching a historical maximum of 4.3 million.
