A ballistic munition launched from Iran and entering Türkiye’s airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean, Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense stated, APA reports.
“Some fragments of the munition fell into empty areas in the city of Gaziantep. No deaths or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Türkiye attaches great importance to good neighborly relations and regional stability. However, it was once again emphasized that all necessary steps will be taken decisively and without hesitation against any threat directed at the country’s territory and airspace.
We remind that taking Türkiye’s warnings in this regard into account is in everyone’s interest,” the statement said.
It should be noted that a drone was found on the Karasu coast in Türkiye’s Sakarya region.
