At the “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” oil refinery located in the city of Nizhnekamsk, a strong explosion accompanied by a fire was recorded following an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ArbatMedia reports.
According to the report, the explosion was visible from many parts of the city. Residents said on social media that they felt a strong shockwave after the blast, and buildings near the industrial zone shook due to the impact.
The mayor of Nizhnekamsk, Radmir Belyaev, stated that the fire at “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” has already been localized. He added that the cause of the explosion was a technical malfunction.
