Iran says Pakistan to remain official mediator in talks with U.S.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday that Pakistan will remain the official mediator in talks with the United States.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said in remarks followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that several countries had offered to assist, but Pakistan would continue to serve as the formal intermediary in any ongoing negotiations.

He praised Islamabad’s role, saying it has demonstrated a positive approach and a notable capacity to carry out mediation efforts.

In a related context, the spokesperson criticized the United States and (Israel), saying they are known for failing to adhere to their commitments.

He added that Iran’s strength remains the primary guarantee against any future war, noting that one of the key current concerns is to swiftly reach an environment in which the risk of war can be fully considered eliminated.
