The main objective of the amendments to the Customs Code is to support businesses, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Shahin Baghirov said at today’s plenary session of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.
Baghirov noted that under various procedures there is a need to carry out certain operations on goods imported into the country and stored in different customs zones: “The current Customs Code provides for the conduct of customs audits, while the new draft distinguishes between on-site inspections and desk (cameral) inspections. On-site inspections will be carried out simultaneously together with the Tax Service. The purpose of the draft is related to fulfilling the tasks set for customs authorities by the head of state.”
