A meeting was held between Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Haitham Al-Qais within the framework of the Baku Energy Week, the Ministry of Energy informed"APA-Economics.
According to the information, during the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with cooperation with Azerbaijan in the OPEC+ format, and the role of Azerbaijan in the process of regulating the oil market was highly appreciated. Also, the importance of investments in hydrocarbons, including the oil sector, against the background of increasing demand for energy was noted. The rational policy of the President of Azerbaijan on the development of energy types was highly appreciated by the OPEC Secretary General.
During the conversation, discussions were held on development trends in the global oil market, the level of implementation of production commitments by OPEC and non-OPEC countries, and the future role of oil in the energy balance. Azerbaijan was invited to the OPEC International Seminar to be held in July.
