The US will no longer finance the conflict in Ukraine, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said in an interview with Fox News, APA reports.
He said that Washington wants to achieve a peaceful resolution to this issue:
"If the Europeans take the initiative and want to buy weapons from American manufacturers, the US is not against it, but it will no longer finance it."
According to the US Vice President, Trump is confident that the meeting with Putin in Alaska is worth the effort:
"These talks are a significant breakthrough for American diplomacy. The US is currently in the process of agreeing on a time when Putin and Zelensky can sit at the same table and discuss ending the conflict. Washington is working to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, taking into account the current line of contact."
He also noted that Trump is considering imposing customs duties on the People's Republic of China's purchase of Russian oil, but a final decision has not been made yet.
