EIA lowers forecast for global oil demand growth rate

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) under the Department of Energy has announced its forecast for global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons for 2026-2027,  APA-Economics, citing the EIA’s monthly report.

According to “APA-Economics”, citing the EIA’s monthly report, global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons in 2027 will average 105.64 million barrels (previous forecast – 106.16 million barrels), which is 1.49 million barrels more than the forecast figure for 2026.

At the same time, the EIA has updated its forecast for global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons for 2026. According to the forecast, global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons this year will average 104.15 million barrels, which is 0.41 million barrels less than the previous forecast.

It is noted that global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons averaged 103.97 million barrels in 2025, which is an increase of 1.17 million barrels compared to the 2024 figure (102.8 million barrels).
